Pulse Workspace version 4.0.107

Pulse Workspace

  1. The Pulse Workspace Workstation file synchronisation procedure (filesync.exe) now browses for folder shares correctly when executed from an installation script. This affects new installations only. Current users will not notice any change.
  2. Following a security review of our software the following changes have been made to the Pulse Workspace network folder share…
    1. The user group permitted to access the share has been changed from Everyone to Users. This means a user must be logged on and authenticated either locally or by the domain to access the share.
    2. Permissions on the folder share have been tightened from Full Control to Read only. The effect of this change should be minimal as ultimate security is provided by the NTFS permissions on the server’s filesystem which remain unchanged and set to the operating system default. It may reduce the potential for attack should the NTFS permissions be compromised.

Note that the change to folder permissions affects new installations only. Existing installations maintain their current permissions created either at installation or by their System Administrator.

Pulse Workspace version 4.0.106

Payroll

  1. Online documentation for payroll is now complete with the addition of help topics for all reports. In addition all chapter headings now include an introduction to the content contained within them.
  2. Produce Pays now includes a warning if negative pays are detected. The operator must confirm the pays otherwise the procedure will be terminated.
  3. Workers Compensation Entry in Pay Details Entry no longer automatically calculates the amount paid. Instead an Amount Paid field is provided to enter the amount. In addition the Claim date & description is now printed on the payslip and all reports rather than the rate of pay description.

Pulse Workspace version 4.0.104/105

Payroll

  1. New. Context sensitive help is now available for the payroll system. Although by no means complete, the help system now provides more than one hundred topic pages covering all payroll data entry modules. Click the Help button on any data entry form to access help about that form.
  2. Employee Enquiry now provides the option to filter employees as current (default), terminated or all.

Pulse Workspace version 4.0.103

Payroll

  1. Adjusted Annual and Personal leave accrual calculations as a result of the changes to the LSL calculation in version 4.0.102. This change affects agreements using the out-of-date 12 month accrual calculation only. Once again clients still using this calculation method are encouraged to update to the 4 week accrual method as recommended by Fair Work Australia.

Pulse Workspace version 4.0.102

Payroll

  1. Leave entitlement adjustment records may now be deleted. Right-click on the adjustment record within Employee Enquiry and select Delete.
  2. When entering a LSL adjustment via Employee Enquiry an additional checkbox, Set as Leave Update Date is displayed. Checking this field will cause the system to calculate LSL accrual from the date of the adjustment rather than from the last entitlement update date. This field is intended for use when migrating a client from another payroll system to Pulse. It effectively sets the adjustment date as the Balance Forward date.
  3. The calculation of 1 year and 5 year average hours has been improved. The average will now be calculated over the period that pay history exists if that period is shorter than the period to be averaged (1 or 5 years).

Pulse Workspace version 4.0.101

Rosters

  1. New. An Hours Duration Calculator has been added to the system. The calculator can be accessed by right-clicking a shift split entry (or double-clicking the row indicator) on the Employee Roster Dialog found in Maintain Employee Rosters and in Timeclock / Roster Reconciliation. The purpose of the calculator is to easily convert a start / finish time into a shift duration.
  2. An issue that caused the Timeclock / Roster Reconciliation to not adjust shift duration when the start time changed has been corrected.

Payroll

  1. An issue that caused employee unavailability to be omitted from the Unavailability Listing has been corrected.
  2. An issue in the Street Address of the Employee Listing has been corrected.
